At Škoda Auto's main plant in Mladá Boleslav, two electrically powered trucks are used for the internal transport of battery modules. This is one of many measures for sustainable development in the field of Production and Logistics, which are covered by the concept of "Green Logistics". This is part of Škoda Auto's "Green Future" strategy, in which the car manufacturer pursues ambitious sustainable development goals.
The range of locally emission-free trucks is around 80 kilometres on a single battery charge, and it takes 4.5 hours to recharge the batteries to full capacity. They consume about 200 kWh of electricity per 100 kilometres of driving. Using these vehicles saves about 60 tonnes of CO2 per year. More information: link to press release.
The trucks are currently equipped with standard semi-trailers. Another electric truck at the Mladá Boleslav plant is a specially manufactured shortened semitrailer (EDIS).
